Comprehensive course for NICU Nurses and Lactation Consultants.

Course includes:

  • 15 hours of online lessons:
    • Each lesson is 15 to 30 minutes in length
      • Easily completed in short periods of down time
  • 10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding
  • Resources to successfully put new knowledge into practice:
    • Skills evaluation before and after completion
    • Marketing in the workplace worksheet
    • Resources worksheet
    • Pocket Cards
    • And More!

Course requires one of the following:

  • Option I: Student accompanies the staff lactation consultant or other designated breastfeeding specialist on unit rounds and assists with the care of breastfeeding mothers. A check list of required activities is available in Supervisor Resources. Supervisor Resources are available to group managers upon enrollment
  • or
  • Option II: Skills Day. Expo with stations to practice all of the hands on skills and discuss challenging policies. Skill station instructor talking points are available in Supervisor Resources. Supervisor Resources are available to group managers upon enrollment

At course completion, a certificate of completion is automatically generated and continuing education credits are granted.

  • 20 Nursing Contact Hours and 20 L-CERP's for IBCLC's

Requirements to receive Contact Hours/Criteria for successful completion includes viewing each lesson slide in its entirety and completion of quiz or post-test.
